CMMC February 2020 Update

Wow, a start of a new decade. It just seems like yesterday that we were all worrying about what would happen with computers when 2000 came!
Motorsport has changed over the last 20 years and still faces fresh challenges, one of which is ever increasing costs. It always amazes me that you all have these beautiful cars and you race them with CMMC for the benefit of all. We appreciate that many of you could race your cars at other events but choose to race them with CMMC. We are a CLUB OF MEMBERS, recognised by MS UK, run by members for the benefit of members. We continue with the ethos of Club motorsport, the same as when the cars were new.
For those of you who have renewed their membership, thank you. Your new cards will be with you very shortly. For those of you who have not yet rejoined I have attached a membership form for 2020. If you are a marshal or official please just fill it in and send it back, no payment is required. From now on, to make like easier, the membership will run the calendar year.

New Classic Era Challenge (incorporating the CMMC pre ’64 Series)
Following on from the pre ’64 Series started last year, which had moderate support, we have started a new Classic Era Challenge. This will include the JEC XKs, their Hawthorn Trophy cars (Jaguar MkI and II), AMOC Jack Fairman and Innes Ireland cars. We will also accept suitable 50s/early 60s cars.

Saturday June 20th Brands Hatch (Indy)
Sunday July 12th Brands Hatch (GP)(Sportscars only)

Sat/Sun August 29th/30th Oulton Park (Sportscars only)
Saturday October 3rd Silverstone (AMOC)(tbc)/
Saturday October 3rd Castle Combe (JEC only)
I have attached entry forms for the first two race meetings, Combe and Donington and you will note that there is an early bird discount.
CMMC Race Meetings in 2020
Make a note in you diary now. Mallory Park on June 14th and Cadwell Park on July 26th. More details will follow.
We were hoping to arrange a Race Meeting at Lydden Hill in April after a successful (if somewhat wet!) inaugural Meeting at end of 2019. However we could not arrange suitable content. We are however, hopeful that we can arrange a Meeting later in the year.
CMMC Southern
Our southern (modern) group goes from strength to strength. It concentrates on races in the southern part of the UK and includes, as it did last year, a couple of races on the Brands GP circuit in August. Welcome Modified Fords
We have registered a new Series with the MS UK called Modified Fords which as the name suggest is for all Ford (UK and European) cars build prior to 2010 in various classes depending on modifications. Going to Race Retro?
We have a stand there again this year, in Hall 2 and numbered 2 – 266. Come and have a chat, sit down and cup of coffee.
