Super rookie Jeremy Sutton to CMMCS Super Saloons

As the new Classic & Modern Motosport Club enters its second season, the Southern section’s Super Saloons continues to attract seasoned drivers and rookies. We welcome Jeremy Sutton from Bexley who is doing his ARDS test this month and will compete in his Yellow  #23 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 2000cc with us.

Wow: palm trees in Bexley… the boy’s hot, or, he’s getting in the mood for racing at Monaco one day.

Here are some further notes from Jeremy for your interest:

The car is a 3 door Sierra Cosworth built in the 90’s by HT Racing from a new 909 Motorsport Shell, including the weld-in roll cage, all supplied by Gartrac. Has coil over suspension with Bilstein Dampers, compression struts with front mounted anti-roll bar and rear rose jointed suspension. AP Racing front and rear discs and callipers operated by a custom bias pedal box with AP Racing proportional valve. T5 gearbox with a Glebe dog kit and a 7.5” ZF plated limited slip differential. New racing YB Cosworth engine built by Joe Stevens @ Hart Power using a 200 block, ported and flowed head, custom valves and cams, lightweight crank and pistons. Custom intake and exhaust manifold with a Borg Warner EFR bespoke turbo.

I have been a car enthusiast since my dad bought a Moonstone Blue Sierra Cosworth in 1987 and over the last 10 years have bought a number of 1980’s project cars which I’ve restored. I qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and currently work in the property development industry.

A few things led to to buying the Cosworth, it’s my favourite car, meeting Joe Stevens and watching the Super Saloon races at Brands Hatch, knowing some of the other drivers, and finally turning 50 last year, having always wanted to enter a circuit racing series, I decided it’s now or never!
