We have finally been able to finish our 2023 calendar. It’s been quite a struggle and perhaps not the best outcome we had hoped for, but where we have to rely on other Club invites we are somewhat in their hands. Whereas in the past we have run events at Silverstone, Cadwell and Lydden for various reasons they were not a viable proposition in 2023. Silverstone was a real disappointment after this year’s successful pilot but they were not in a position to offer a suitable date. We had hoped to be offered the day after the VSCC meeting, as we did this year, but that was not possible. We are of course continuing with our very popular Mallory Park meeting and again it will be a weekend being May 20th/21st next year.
We had also hoped to start off both the Southern Series and Classic Challenge at the MG Car Club’s weekend at Brands Hatch at the very beginning of April but, unfortunately, they eventually could not allocate any time to us. In 2023 we are keeping the CMMC Series registration fees the same as 2022 with the exception of the Classic Series which will now be the same as the Tin Tops and Super Saloons at £99 (£35 membership fee and £64 for Series fee). Intermarque silhouettes will stay at £200.
And finally can I remind all paid up members that the AGM (written questions must be submitted prior to the meeting via your co-ordinator or a committee member) will take place at 4pm on Saturday January 21st 2023 at the Marriott Hotel (now Delta), 1 Broadway, Bexleyheath DA6 7JZ and the Awards Dinner/dance will follow at 7pm (menu is here Awards Night menu – Classic & Modern Motorsport Club Southern (cmmcs.co.uk) to which ALL members and their guests are invited. It’s only £15 for driver and their guest whilst for others it is £40.
